A huge thank you to the volunteers who survived WJJO's Band Camp. They were all troopers, working from noon until 9:30 PM in the heat (well, okay, a couple people had to leave early). The volunteers:
Ellen from Deforest (Lizze's friend)
Colleen Flesher
Jordan Gillingham
Neal Jackson
Bryce Marsh
Max Sampson
Lizze Sankbeil
Lauren Wendt
Thank you Preston for recommending our club to do the fundraiser and thank you Josh from Papa John's for the opportunity to work the pizza stand. Although hard work, it was a most interesting and adventurous day!!
We earned $500 and about $50 in tips. An excellent start to the 2011 fundraising season! We are hoping to do more of these types of events and hope to get more volunteers.

posted 05/17/2010 The game of lacrosse requires and rewards coordination and agility, not brawn. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse. An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in boys and girls lacrosse. Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball.
The game of lacrosse is unique among all sports due to the history and origins of its rules. It is a game played with honor; a game where sportsmanship is at the top of the list of rules.
Game - A way of amusing oneself; a pastime; diversion.
Sportsmanship - Qualities and conduct of those that participate in sports; abiding by the rules of the contest and accepts victory or defeat graciously.
Honor - Esteem; respect; reverence | | | | | |
